Cycling for all in Devizes and beyond
SUNDAY 28 August
Bank Holiday Family Bike Ride
Our next Devizes Family Bike Ride (which includes Rusty Returners) once again enjoys the stunning countryside along the Kennet and Avon Canal. Christopher Hazelwood, who leads this month's ride, is offering a choice of 2 rides.
Registration is at 9:30am by the row of bike hoops in the car park at Devizes Wharf*, Couch Lane, Devizes SN10 1EB. Look out for our Cycle Devizes! banners.
Allow up to two hours. We're acutely aware that the Devizes Street Festival starts at noon!
Route A is 6 miles: From The Wharf car park along the Kennet & Avon towpath to the bottom of the Caen Hill locks, then return up the 27 locks to the Caen Hill cafe where there are refreshments in one of Devizes's finest rural settings then back to the Wharf.
Route B is 4 miles: As for route A but shorter as we will be stopping at the Caen Hill cafe where we can enjoy waiting for those doing route A.

Could you help once a year?
Can you take a turn to plan a simple family cycle ride during the summer months? Sustainable Devizes offers a small secretariat to promote and support the event but we need someone to take the lead. We are looking for two volunteers: one for September and one for October. Could that be you? Please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
